    Lab Retreat

Our recent team retreat was special to me. A nice mix of deep thinking, creative energy, and fun 🙂

From filling whiteboards with sticky notes on AI, efficient coding, critical thinking, and communication… to rolling up our sleeves on a focused Nextflow session. Enjoying great food and even better conversations around the table. A big thank you to the @AI Health Innovation Cluster for hosting us.

I’m especially thankful to be working at the exciting intersection of Immunology @Unimedizin Mainz and Cancer @DKFZ – and to do it alongside such a talented and passionate team: @Esenkova, @Faghihi, @Qadeer, @Seebass, @Zheng, @Žežlina, @Welte, @Wendel, @Altenhofen, @Panke

    Hike to Weißer Stein

We spent a summer day hiking to Weißer Stein in the Odenwald near Heidelberg. The route offered forest views and a great break from our desks, with plenty of time for informal discussions along the trail.

We marked the end of the year with a group Christmas dinner in Mainz. The evening provided an opportunity to reflect on the past year and enjoy time together outside the lab in a relaxed setting.

    Hoffenheim vs Bremen soccer game

A subteam of researchers went out for a battling soccer game between local Hoffenheim and Bremen. Clear win for Hoffenheim, well, until the red card for Hoffenheim made it easy for Bremen.
